Matt's work demonstrates a natural flair for visual and cinematic storytelling and a talent for creating unique, stylish and engaging visions.
His pop-culture sensibilities are evident throughout his work and his background in visual-effects and art-direction has given him a wonderful eye for detail.
Matt's passion for directing formed at an early age. Growing up, he wrote scripts and made films with his friends, learning filmmaking techniques first hand and developing a strong visual vocabulary that laid the foundations for later on.
Matt's portfolio includes music videos for internationally recognized artists, such as Editors, Mystery Jets and Patrice. These videos have frequently been shown on channels across the globe (his video for Mystery Jets stayed at No.1 in the MTV NME playlist for a month and appeared as one of the top 20 videos of the year).
In 2009, his UK Film Council funded short film, 'Luke & The Void', premiered at Encounters and went on to be enjoyed by film festival audiences around the world, winning the award for 'Best Live Action Short' at Stamford Children's Film Festival 2010.
Matt's strength in storytelling has also led him to collaborating on a variety of feature screenplays and editing a number of independent features, shorts and commercials as well as music videos for, among others, The Killers, Kula Shaker, Young Knives and Seasick Steve.
Matt has also recently held the position of Art Director for a leading video marketing agency, where he was responsible for creative ideas, scripting, visuals and overseeing post-production on virals, commercials and corporate films for clients including Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Lego, Lloyds TSB and Samsung.
Continuing his passion for directing, Matt now works as a freelance writer and director and is developing a number of projects. He's represented by Pixelloft for music videos
